With only a month to go until After Dark Sessions celebrates its 50th session in South Africa the tension is in the air!!!

Some news that leaked last week was that indeed Moonbeam will no be longer joining in the celebrations in South Africa due to unforeseen circumstances.

Stepping up and in there place will be Myon + Shane54.

The 2 day celebrations will be taking place on Friday the 2nd March at Origin Nightclub in Durban and Saturday the 3rd of March at Truth Nightclub in Johannesburg. South Africa a little too far for you to travel? Fear not you ADS heads as the official 50th session in Johannesburg will be broadcasted live on UStreamTV.

Tickets go on sale this Monday the 6th of February! All ticket outlets to be announced.

This month Ørjan Nilsen made it as simple a choice as choosing between stale piece of bread or a mars bar! Ok, maybe that’s not the best comparison for those who have chocolate allergy’s but you get our point!

With Banging remixes of Richard Durand’s “Run to you” and Mark Sherry’s “Silent Tears” its safe to say Ørjan has had a killer month. Oh, we forgot to mention his single “Viking” which sat pretty at the top of most download charts gloabally. Ørjan we salute you.

When us pen pushers here at the ADFamily headquarters spoke with Andy regarding his artist of the month he had this to say

“I have always had a soft spot for Ørjan on a personal level as well his musical ability as we have very similar backgrounds with both of us losing our brothers. So I have always paid an extra interest to what he has going on. I have always loved his work but this past few months he seems to have gone into overdrive and everything he touches turns into gold. I am probably one of the most picky producers in the world! Sometimes you would think I hate dance music. But with Ørjan’s music, It reminds me of how EDM should be. Easy pick for me this month. Ørjan, thanks for making After Dark Sessions sound good!”

About this weeks guest mixer Struan Gordon

Hailing from Aberdeen, Struan has always been a fan of dance music, particularly trance & hard-dance; but what really gets him going is cutting-edge & distinct sounds, particularly from tech-trance.

Having played, predominatly, in Aberdeen, Struan’s sets have varied from fast trance & hard-dance to more chilled and progressive house & techno.

Struan hopes this set will allow folk (folk = Scottish for people) to appreciate just a sample of what sounds he likes to play.

We are fast approaching the 50th Session of After Dark and to celebrate it is now revealed that the 50th session celebrations will be a 3 date tour of South Africa.

Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg at the start of March 2012. In After Dark Sessions 037 Andy revealed the news and also that there will be 4 headliners for each event.

He confirmed that joining him will be Moonbeam and that he will announce another artist in After Dark Sessions 038 and 039!

After Dark Sessions 50 News Broadcast by News Bulletin

Zachary Zamarripa presents his latest single and debut for After Dark Music, “Ramicackle”.

“Ramicackle” ticks all the “genre boxes” from trance to progressive to techno and back again! With strong saw’s and deep subs topped with the solid production of ZZ’s drums, it all mixes together nicely like fish and chips!

Ok, maybe that’s a bad comparison if your not british but you get the jist! The build from beginning to breakdown is as epic as the breakdown itself where the lead hook is introduced and the saw’s chords are unleashed to the full. As huge as it enters the breakdown, it builds up to its peak and smashes back in to the groove which keeps the peak flow throughout! “Ramicackle” is born in every sense of the word what isn’t in the dictionary…..yet.

On the flip side we are treated with remixes from Josdar and Francesco Sambero. Josdar up’s the BPM and once again showcases his uplifting sounds combining his progressive grooves. A remix for the BIG room trancers out there! Francesco Sambero takes us down a different garden path and twists and churns the original and out pops the deep progressive sound we are all growing to love.

Let’s strip it back to Zach (That rhymes)! You can read Zach’s bio sure, but we will tell you in our own words why he is our hot pick this month.

Its been no secret that Andy is a fan of Zach’s productions after featuring Zach on his Miracle Moments compilation with his haunting single, “Calling”. Andy recalled a conversation with Zach about “Calling” where Andy felt a vocal would just top off the track to turn it from amazing to epic and within a few hours Zach had sent back a revised track with a chilling vocal by…….himself! We firmly believe that Zachary Zamarripa is the next “Swedish House Mafia” rolled into one!
